# Ballon d’Or 2026 Winners: Harry Kane and Alexia Putellas Take Centre StageLondon hosted a memorable night of football as Harry Kane and Alexia Putellas claimed the headline honours at the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony on 26 October. For Kane, it marked a first victory. For Putellas, it was a third triumph at the top of the women’s game.### Harry Kane’s Golden MomentKane’s numbers made a powerful case: 61 goals in 51 appearances for Bayern Munich, a German league-and-cup double, and six goals during England’s run to the World Cup semi-finals. He became the first Englishman to win the award since Michael Owen in 2001.There is something especially satisfying about seeing a striker’s sustained excellence receive this recognition. Kane’s victory gives his career a defining individual achievement—and English supporters a moment they have waited a generation to celebrate.### Alexia Putellas Returns to the SummitPutellas won the women’s Ballon d’Or following a treble-winning campaign with Barcelona that also included the Spanish Super Cup. Her third award adds another milestone to an extraordinary career, with the midfielder having moved to London City Lionesses in July.Winning once secures a place in football history. Returning to collect a third trophy speaks to a player’s ability to keep setting the standard as the competition around her evolves.### More Winners from Football’s Big NightThe ceremony also recognised the players, coaches and clubs whose contributions shaped the season:| Award | Winner ||—|—|| Men’s Striker of the Year | Harry Kane || Women’s Striker of the Year | Charlyn Corral || Men’s Goalkeeper of the Season | Unai Simón || Women’s Goalkeeper of the Season | Cata Coll || Men’s Coach of the Season | Luis de la Fuente || Women’s Coach of the Season | Pere Romeu || Young Women’s Player of the Season | Vicky López || Women’s Club of the Year | FC Barcelona || Sócrates Award | Bukayo Saka |These results were reported by the official Ballon d’Or website.
