From watching the camp waterhole to heading out on longer excursions, here are ten ways to make the most of a stay at Orpen.<\/p>\n
Before you reach for the car keys, give the waterhole outside the camp fence some attention. Wildlife can visit while you are enjoying the considerable luxury of staying put.<\/p>\n
Bring binoculars and leave your expectations behind. Watch how an animal approaches, pauses and checks its surroundings. Even an apparently ordinary sighting becomes interesting when you give it more than a passing glance.<\/p>\n

There is something deeply satisfying about opening a flask after a morning in the park. Keep the menu simple, linger over breakfast and make the journey part of the occasion.<\/p>\n

You need neither an expensive camera nor an encyclopaedic knowledge of birds. An interest in what might happen next is enough.<\/p>\n

It is a lovely way to keep a quiet game drive interesting\u2014and a good reminder that a sighting does not need to be large to be memorable.<\/p>\n
