There are draws that feel like defeats.<\/p>\n

And there are draws that feel like escapes.<\/p>\n

For Juventus, this was probably a bit of both.<\/p>\n

Against AC Milan at the Allianz Stadium, Juve controlled long periods, created the better chances, hit the post and forced Mike Maignan into several saves. Then, with 20 minutes left, they found themselves behind.<\/p>\n

Football can be cruel like that.<\/p>\n

But Federico Gatti had the final word.<\/p>\n

His 92nd-minute header rescued a 1-1 draw and made sure Juventus did not leave their own stadium empty-handed. Milan had taken the lead through Alphadjo Ciss\u00e9 in the 69th minute, before Gatti powered home Teun Koopmeiners\u2019 late cross.<\/p>\n

Juventus started like the team that wanted it more<\/p>\n

From the opening stages, Juventus looked sharper.<\/p>\n

Francisco Concei\u00e7\u00e3o was the biggest problem for Milan. He kept attacking his man, kept finding space and repeatedly forced the Rossoneri defence backwards.<\/p>\n

Mike Maignan had to save from Nico Gonz\u00e1lez and Concei\u00e7\u00e3o early on, while Juve kept pushing without finding the finish their play deserved.<\/p>\n

That became the story of their night.<\/p>\n

Plenty of pressure.<\/p>\n

Not enough punishment.<\/p>\n

After half-time, Concei\u00e7\u00e3o came even closer when his shot smashed against the base of the post in the 55th minute. Juventus finished with 14 shots to Milan\u2019s three, including five on target compared with Milan\u2019s one.<\/p>\n

Those numbers tell you plenty.<\/p>\n

Juve were the more aggressive side.<\/p>\n

Milan were the more clinical one.<\/p>\n

Ciss\u00e9 changes everything<\/p>\n

For all Juventus\u2019 pressure, Milan needed only one proper opening.<\/p>\n

And they took it.<\/p>\n

Samuel Chukwueze broke forward and switched the play to Alphadjo Ciss\u00e9, who controlled brilliantly, moved inside Manuel Locatelli and drilled his finish into the far corner.<\/p>\n

One chance.<\/p>\n

One goal.<\/p>\n

Suddenly the Allianz Stadium was quiet.<\/p>\n

It was also a significant goal: Milan had not scored against Juventus in Serie A since Olivier Giroud did so in May 2023.<\/p>\n

This is exactly what makes these big Serie A games so dangerous.<\/p>\n

You can dominate for an hour.<\/p>\n

Switch off once.<\/p>\n

And suddenly you are chasing the match.<\/p>\n

Then came Gatti<\/p>\n

Juventus kept going.<\/p>\n

Jeremie Boga tested Maignan. Nick Woltemade came on for his Bianconeri debut. Teun Koopmeiners gave Juve more delivery from deeper positions.<\/p>\n

Then, in stoppage time, the breakthrough finally came.<\/p>\n

Koopmeiners whipped the ball towards the back post and Gatti rose to head Juventus level.<\/p>\n

The defender was reportedly expected to leave during the summer.<\/p>\n

Instead, he stayed.<\/p>\n

And in one of the biggest games of Juve\u2019s early season, he delivered the moment that saved them.<\/p>\n

That is football.<\/p>\n

Plans change quickly.<\/p>\n

Heroes appear even quicker.<\/p>\n

Spalletti will like the attitude \u2014 but not the finishing<\/p>\n

Luciano Spalletti\u2019s post-match reaction probably summed up Juventus perfectly.<\/p>\n

He praised the way his side pressed, raised the tempo and tried to control the game, but admitted the decision-making still has to improve. His message was clear: in matches like this, Juventus cannot wait for opportunities to arrive \u2014 they have to take them.<\/p>\n

Manuel Locatelli made a similar point.<\/p>\n

Juventus played well.<\/p>\n

The substitutes made an impact.<\/p>\n

But the team needs to become more ruthless inside the penalty area.<\/p>\n

That is the main concern.<\/p>\n

Because if Juve produce 14 shots against Milan and still need a 92nd-minute equaliser, the issue is not creating chances.<\/p>\n

It is finishing them.<\/p>\n

Milan will probably take the point<\/p>\n

For Milan, this was a strange night.<\/p>\n

They were second best statistically and spent long spells defending, but they still came within minutes of leaving Turin with all three points.<\/p>\n

It also says something about the areas they still need to improve.<\/p>\n

They managed only three attempts all night and one on target. Ruben Amorim later admitted Milan did not really deserve to win the game.<\/p>\n

For a team with ambitions of challenging at the top of Serie A, that attacking output will need to improve.<\/p>\n

Still, taking a point away at Juventus is rarely a disaster.<\/p>\n

What this result tells us<\/p>\n

Both clubs had started the season with two victories, so this was their first dropped points of the new campaign.<\/p>\n

And in some ways, the game told us more than another comfortable win would have.<\/p>\n

Juventus look capable of controlling big matches.<\/p>\n

But neither side looks fully polished yet.<\/p>\n

For Juve, the problem is ruthlessness.<\/p>\n

And against rivals like these, wasted chances eventually become dropped points.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, it was another lively weekend in Italy.<\/p>\n

Inter edged Napoli 3-2, Roma defeated Atalanta 2-1, while Bologna and Sassuolo shared a 2-2 draw. Torino also picked up an impressive 2-1 away victory over Fiorentina.<\/p>\n

It is early.<\/p>\n

But Serie A already looks like it could become seriously congested at the top.<\/p>\n

Juventus and Milan remain very much in the conversation.<\/p>\n

Neither, though, will leave Turin completely satisfied.<\/p>\n
