The litys were playing in the garden the other day with the new Adidas Ball. Uncle Bhai Gora came out and said you litys are tikking around with a ball that’s over 1k. In our days we had this and he pulled out this ball. He also said you were a Bozza Lity if you headed the Micasa which was like heading concrete. Back in the day. Watta thing. Bricks as poles, road as a pitch, micasa ball and no gloves for Keeper. Cars used to dodge the litys, used to play rival streets as Derby games, Maghrib azaan was the final whistle, Night games used to be wedding houses, the Big size guys were automatic Centre backs and the best word was when a car drove by we all scram “ACTION”. Also recruitment for LFA ball came from the streets. Some of the glue boys were quality and were hence drafted into the Sunday League teams. Some owes even came with their boots but when the guys said the studs will wear out they changed it for tekkies . Now I walk on the same street outside my house and try to fathom how 30 plus litys played on the ground in an area that had a slope lol. Also if a Lity rocked up with a Nike tekkie all the owes would surround him and say Yoh and we knew he just came from Umrah ?Eish what Days. Areh Wah UBG. As Eric Cantona says… Oooh Aaah Bhai Gora #aslnoowakath #backintheday #ubg #unclebhaigora #welovethisgame #quwatuldays #lenz #nirvanadrive #tigers #lesco
