On Sunday it was an emotional day for me as my man and Juventus Legend Alessandro Del Piero parted ways with Juventus Football Club. 19 Years and 290 goals for the Bianconerri. It was emotional and full of tears. I started supporting Juve way back in 1996 when I went to Euro 96 in England and bought my first Juventus Long Sleeves kit. From then I became a fan of Del Piero and now in 2012 Alex has left the club at age 37. A loyal servant and a man who stuck with the Bianconeri since the Calciopoli scandal and Serie B. Del Piero is a legend and his send off was no different. The Juevntus stadium said farewell to Alex when he completed his lap of honour with tears in his eyes.
Del Piero said that you could see the passion and emotion in the eyes of the fans. For me it was emotional as well. I say goodbye to Alex and as a Juventus Fan we will miss him.

Meanwhile AC Milan said goodbye to their legends. Gatusso,Inzaghi,Zambrotta and Nesta. They are also Azurri and for me its also a sad moment as I say goodbye to an ERA.

Juventus Celebrate the Title

City are crowned Champions

On Sunday it was unbelievable. This is the reason why we love football. It was final Sunday for the EPL and lets be honest everybody expected a easy Manchester City victory. No one really cared what happened at the Stadium of Light. The MANCS and myself had conceded the title to City. After Man City took the lead through Zabaletta it seemed though the script had been written. Then in a cruel twist of fate Lescotts error allowed Djibrille Cisse in and he equalised. The MANCS meanwhile led at Sunderland. Surely City would press and take the lead. Then the Joey Barton incident. An off the ball incident with Tevez and then sheer madness as he kicked Aguero in anger. This was definitely the turning point of the game. Im sure Hughes and QPR Fans thought this was the end. 10 men against a hungry City. And who would have expected QPR to take the lead. 2-1 and the MANCS were on course to capture the EPL. Nobody scripted this. I phoned Dr Ebrahim Moosajee probably the only QPR Fan I know in South Africa and shared some banter.

City were pressing. This was destiny. I could see the Ghosts of Munich playing for QPR. Tommy Taylor,Duncan Edwards,Charlton and Best in midfield.

I called my Grandfather in on 90 minutes and said “Papa, Come and see how Man City has thrown the leagues away. All of a sudden I couldn’t see the Ghosts of Munich. They left on 90 minutes. Dzeko equalised and in almost the last kick of the game Sergio Aguero gave City the Lead. I couldnt believe it. 60 seconds has changed everything. Mancini had a job again. City Fans cried tears of Joy instead of despair. Earlier fans were kicking chairs in Anger. They felt they gifted their City Rivals the title.

On the touchline it was sheer emotion.

Yesterday I met a gutted MANC fan Mamoo and he told me he almost had a heart attack and he couldnt take such pressure.

Chelsea were crowned FA Cup Champions on Saturday and I must admit after the low of Saturday and the High of Juventus on Sunday I actually put the FA Cup loss to Chelsea behind me.

What can I say…We didnt show up for the first half and the start of the second. We let Ramirez run us and beat Reina at the new post. Reina was beaten again by Drogba. Very unlikely of Reina. That was poor. I thought Kenny would start with the inform Andy Carroll.

We were absolutely shocking in the opening spell and 2-0 down. I said to freds that this is the summary of Liverpools season.

Enter Big Carrol and the man continued where he left off. He tirned Terry and it was 2-1. A different game and we were back in it.

Then the moment of controversy. Carrol rose to a delightful Suarez chip and his header was saved by Chech but seemed to have crossed the line. 9 out of ten keepers wouldnt have saved that. Liverpool fans cried that we were robbed and Carrol ran off to celebrate. The best view that I saw showed that the full ball didnt cross the line and well thats FIFA Rules. Perhaps it was the fury of Mourinho who felt let down by a similar incident in that fatefull Champions League Semi Final.

So that was it and Chelsea went on to win the FA CUP. The blues celebrated and so did De Matteo. Its Bayern next for them.

As for Liverpool is King Kenny the right man. Are his tactics questionable. Is he playing Jordan Henderson out of position. Or is Liverpool plain shite. So many questions. And only a Carling Cup to show in what was deemed as a promising season….
